These are the features that have been added to the Playground and did not exist with the Cloud Servers.
In the new Playground, you have the option to customize the size of the server you create. Active subscribers receive 8 Units to use when creating servers. Your Units Available will be displayed above your already created servers:
When creating a new server, you can select the size and the Unit cost is listed with the size. Some distributions may have a minimum size that costs more than one unit.
If you do not have enough Units Available for the server size you have chosen, a message will display showing you do not have enough Units.
The Playground will now assign a public IPv6 address that you can use to connect. This is still in testing and may not work reliably at the moment.
When you create a server, you will now see a log with the actions and current state of the server. The log does not provide detailed information, but will allow you to see the progress of the server as it starts up. Note that some distributions can take longer than others to load.
The Playground also includes a new notifications system to send emails that will alert you when one of your servers is close to expiration. The expiration is the same 40 days without starting that the current Cloud Servers feature includes. This new notification system will simply send you an email 5 days before the server expires and is automatically deleted.
You can unsubscribe from these by clicking the 'unsubscribe' button included in the email when it is sent.
Additional notifications and management settings may be added as this feature is developed further.
